Christmas is here and gone...

Wow is all I can think of... the Christmas season is over as of today the 26th of Dec! All the bargain shoppers were out in full force today! So many grumpy as you by pass them smile a friendly hello don't break their grumpness! I wish more people would remember the reason for the season. Plus remember that family and friends are what its all about too!
I hope that this finds all of you healthy and ready for the 2012 year to start in less than a week! Still wondering where this 2011 year went to. Didn't seem like Christmas with no snow on the ground. We did see a few bikes out on the road! I talked to Santa up at Ernie Wms Harley and asked him for snow for Christmas, a white Christmas is all I asked for, he said no he was enjoying the weather we were having, I said well can we at least have riding weather??!!
I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to you all & to ALL a Happy 2012 New Year! Enjoy your family & friends!

Turned over the fund to TRMC ONCOLOGY!

WOW Rae Anne couldn't believe how much we raised this year! $43,163.29! That is amazing to all the people that helped out to help local breast cancer patients! This is all within a 75 mile radius of Ft Dodge! There are so many people fighting breast cancer that this will help out!

We didn't have all of our Angels there for the picture, but we salute all of them, as we couldn't of done it with out their help! Some helped a little, some helped allot, some lived with it in their homes daily! The businesses, and the people who rode, and donated too! It is a group afford to make any benefit a good success! The patients that benefit from this have a fight ahead of them, its not just one day, week, year... it takes many days, weeks, years to be thankful that they are survivors! I know it would be hard!

We still have some shirts, hoodies, long sleeved t-shirts left and for sale at Party Production in Ft Dodge. The shirt sales have been over the top this year! There is no more orders going in this year... but thats ok, as we have the guy that did the design this year, already thinking of new designs for next year!

Thanks again for following me this year! I will still be keeping this up as until there is a cure found for breast cancer, we still need funds to help the people!
I will leave you with some statements from people that have used some of the funds...

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Just a note thanking you for your assistance. It does make a difference when unable to work due to treatments. Things have been real hard on me lately. Your help with gas cards for traveling to Webster City made a huge difference in my worries.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Continue what you are doing. If a woman can have a positive experience dealing with breast cancer I did thanks to your help. The wig that you provided allowed me to maintain some sense of normalcy during treatment. Thank you so very much. What you are doing for patients fighting breast cancer is remarkable. I am only one patient but have seen your work in action at the cancer center numerous times!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am very happy to say Thank You to this great group! My getting breast cancer was quite unexpected. I was the first in my family to be diagnosed with this. My whole world was out of control after the news. I didn’t know what to do and well-meaning people were offering all sorts of advice that I didn’t need. You will never know how much it meant to pick out a wig and hat and be told there was no charge because of your donations to the cancer center. I actually cried. [Maybe I just needed a reason to cry and release some of my emotions] Any way Thank you. When I have these treatments behind me, I hope to repay the kindness. God Bless you all.

Hope you get another ride in before the snow flies!

Seeing Angel Ride shirts every where!

I don't get go too many places too often, but have notice lately, that every where I look there is a TaTa shirt of ours somewhere! Which is good!
Went to the FDSH football game to watch my son, and here is a couple of our shirts that younger high school girls were wearing wandering around the bleachers! I thought it was awesome! Went to the store there's a couple more! At the races... there they are!!
Sometimes I wonder when there is benefits, do people just buy the shirt for the day? I know that when I get shirts from many different benefits, I wear them when ever I can! Nice to keep the word out on those benefits as they all work so hard in putting together those rides!
With the summer closing down... and October being Breast Cancer awareness month, I sure hope to see more of the Angel Ride shirts, as we want to remind people that early detection saves lives! Maybe if people see the "Save the TaTas" it will remind them of so many fighting for their lives! Maybe its their mom, sister, grandmother, neighbor, or friend. Or even those that you will meet one day! These people are taking day by day, week by week & month by month! And when the anniversary of their cancer free comes around, those girls know their date! A friend of mine has hers on my birthday! I am so pleased that I can share this special day with her!
Remember to do a self exam often, schedule those mammograms yearly, and don't forget to go to the doctors for check ups! We want to see you all around for many years to come!
TaTa for now~ Angel Ride Girl

Stories that want you keep you motivated!

You know when someone tells me a story of how Breast Cancer has touched their lives, it brings tears to my eyes! It is amazing how not even knowing some of these people that are going through the treatments, that you can almost feel their stories deep inside you!
Yesterday when a gal came to my house to pickup a shirt for someone she knew. She told me that the Angel Ride was a really good ride to be on! And shortly afterwards her best friend found out that she had breast cancer...
As I listened to her talk about her friend, with her hair falling out, her friend wanted her to shave her head, easier than watching it fall out piece by piece... Now this is something that you hear about, but I know I haven't really put much thought into hair loss, I know that our funds we have made helps to buy wigs! But... to ask your friend to shave your head! But that is what friends are for to be there through it all, I know my best friends would love to shave my head! :) She said that it was hard at 1st, but then they played around and had some fun with it, mo-hawked it, and had some laughs while cutting it. Tears also! She was going to have pink added to her hair to show support for her friend! I told her of the pink feathers, and pink clip ins that she could use to add to her hair!
Look into the mirror and think of your self with your hair all fixed up nicely & then think about it again, all gone, bald as the day you were born! These people that go through cancer (any kind of cancer)loose their hair because of treatments... I think myself I would shave it off too, as it would be so depressing to watch it fall to the ground. There is so many things that one can do, wigs, scarves, tattoos, each person does what ever is best for themselves!
This gal also told me that her friend is benefiting from the funds we raise, they got her a wig, and the support group is amazing, along with the gift bags that they are given when going through treatment! She said she never thought much about why she went on these rides, but she now knows 1st hand now!
I was really truly amazed as this gal told me of the meals she was cooking for her friend to make sure she was eating, as she is sick while doing her treatment. She said it is nothing to make an extra potato, or a little extra of what ever she was making for her family. Doing something so small can mean allot to someone in need!
When you are on your bike (or in your car) think about these benefit rides that they are doing for people, all the good that it is helping others! These golf outings, walks, whatever is going on in your community, think of who it is helping, as you never know someday it may come back around to help you!

Time out to Help Others!

When Luann asked me if we could help out with the Susan G Komen golf outing, there was only one answer we could give her. Yes! As Luann and some of her gals helped us at our Angel Ride event! Our Angel committee donated a couple baskets! I etched on some beer glasses, a tray plus a few goodies to make a simple basket up!
August 20, 2011 was the Rally for a Cure golf outing at Willow Ridge golf coarse in Ft Dodge! I am not a golfer, but like to be outside and helping others! It was an awesome day to be out too, not too hot, and a cool breeze! Just a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon!
My husband Rob & I worked hole 5 selling 50/50 tickets & chances for a case of wine! Kinda missed the morning round as they were sell Mimosa to the golfers! The golfers are always so nice at these benefit golfing! Plus we get to see many of our friends there too!
They had a silent auction with many awesome things to look at! As I went around looking at the things on the table there is always ones that you bump into that are wanting the same thing as you want... I did get a couple nice things... and as I was waiting for the girls to pull together the paperwork from the silent auction so we could pay and go home to spend the rest of the evening with our sons. They drew for the 50/50 tickets! And as I stood there, my name was called! I had to stand there a moment as I wasn't sure if that was the name I heard or not. Rob was the one that said we needed to buy some 50/50 tickets, and it was my name that was called! We got a 6 pack cooler with it too! So I went up to get the cooler & money, Glenda said the money was in top of the cooler, I unzipped it and let her take the money out of it for the cause! It is all about the cause! And my husbands words rang in my head, you won't miss it if you never had it! It was the right thing to do to hand the money back over to the cause!
For a closing thought... when you think that you are too busy to help others, just remember if you were ever down on your luck wouldn't you want others to be there for you? With handing over the 50/50 money, sure I could of bought somethings for my family or me, but in the long run, I am hoping that the money will help find a cure for the breast cancer!

Family, Friends, and the people you meet along the way!

Last night my friend Laura came out to take pictures of my family on our bikes as my oldest son will be soon going back to college in VT... Having 3 older sons that are bigger than me, plus a husband that hates to have his picture taken, along with 4 bikes, Laura had her hands full needless to say! Trying to whip those guys into shape to behave to take pictures is a tough job! A job only a mother wants done! haha But I am so thankful for Laura to have come out to do it for us, taking time outta her busy life to do this for us! I told someone tonight, I wanted to get the pictures taken as you never know what tomorrow will bring! Hard to think about some days, but something that we do need to think about!

Each day I am asked by a family member, a neighbor, friends or someone on facebook that I haven't met yet, "How did the ride go? How many riders were there?? How much did you raise???" or "WE HAD SO MUCH FUN, Can't wait until nest year!!" It is so amazing how many people that knows about the Angel Ride, not only our families that have put up with things not getting done around the house, or laundry backed up. Or forgetting about an appointment, hanging out with a friend... many things!
The people that we are just meeting! Ones that have gone thru Breast Cancer, that have come up to us and said, "With the money you have raised, you helped me with..." You just want to hug each and everyone of them! I have told some people, when they talk about HERO'S, these people that are fighting each day because of their Breast Cancer, or any other cancer, they are the real heros because they fight a long and hard battle, that I know I would have troubles fighting. You think a bad day at work is one thing, hurting each day would be worse. I, myself have bad days, and wonder to myself wow can it be worse? Then you think of others, ones that we are trying to help to make a small part of their life go better! If everyone tried to make some ones day a little better, they would feel so much better, and I do think that the word would & could be a better place, if only... we tried!

I do got to say tho, the people from the bars that we had stops in to the ones we have met on rides (and from other benefit rides too)you make wonderful friends along the way! Even thru facebook, I have met some amazing people that follow us on there about the Angel Ride, to ones that are following us because of Breast Cancer! I had one gal that lives in Nevada, IA that I haven't meet as of yet, but have emailed, talked on the phone, and are friends on facebook, she has gone thru breast cancer and had hit many bumps in the road of life, but I enjoy seeing what she posts on facebook! Also a gal in Iowa City area, that her group got together and bought allot of shirts from us, the Chrome Divas, in hopes to meeting up with them someday too!

These people that we meet where ever we go in life, they have put a print (like a finger print on glass) in our lives, in our hearts and in our memories! We might forget their names (or can't place a name to their face!)but they are there with us daily! I know I have met so many people this year, and plan on meeting many more in years to come!
I want to thank all those people that have come into my life for one reason or another, you have touched my life in ways that are hard to express! Family members, friends, old school mates, daycare families, to new people along the way! You all have touched my life in one way or another! If ever person in the world would reach out to meet one new person a day, to be kind to a person, to just say HI to someone you pass on the street, just think of all the smiles there could be!

Just remember, life is what you make of it, there are going to be days that you are so excited about and want that day to never end, to those days that you wonder, why am I still even here, no one cares if I am here or not... Each day you need to get up, put your boots on one foot at a time, and go out into the world and show that life does matter, as there are so many people out there fighting cancer that pray for another day...

Take 5 To Stay Alive!

Wow it is almost 2 weeks past the ride... and we are still in amazement of the awesome turn out! 570+ people signed up for the ride, oh and not to mention the others that just came out to have fun before & afterwards! WOW
July 29th was a busy night at Amigos party to the music of Hell or High Water! 120+ signed up at our pre-registration! Many shirts & Angel Ride items were sold that night, the 50/50 ticket money pay out was $300+! Had great weather, good people... what else can anyone ask for! Good friends to help out when I was going crazy! Yup that was a big plus! Didn't know this was going to be as crazy as it was!
July 30 started at Amigos with an awesome omelet breakfast! More & more people that came to sign up! I glanced at the sign up sheets, and there was some from TX there, and a couple from FL that this is their 2nd time on the ride! Said they will be back next year!! Yippie! We had 400 sign up papers, and well had to go get more... we didn't know what to expect as there were other events going on around the area... Just never know! :) The weather was a bit warm, but awesome to ride! We even had my sister in law & brother in law there to ride, plus a couple of our friends, all of them rode from 2 hours away rode with us, then rode home that night! That is so cool that they rode all that way to do the ride for just the day!
The businesses, Marv's Grill & Bar in Gowrie were all ready for all these riders to come thru there! Smiles on their faces proved all was going well! Boxholm was a smaller bar,but Kris' Korner, was an awesome stop to make... when planning these rides, I want to get some of these places that no one would of ever thought about stopping at,in hopes that they will tell their friends, "This is a place you gotta check out..." Then down to Toby K's in Boone, they were serving up BBQ pork sandwiches, and also burgers! Could smell the grill as we were pulling up there! Then we started to head north to Rungo's in Stratford! What a friendly place to stop! Dan the owner is a super nice guy! And his staff Brenda & Josh are so much fun! I would highly recommend this place as a stop any time! There was also another ride that was going to a few of the same stops as we did... "BIKERS FOR BOOBS" they had some nice people on their run too! Bought a shirt from them when we stopped at Riverside Tap in Lehigh! Kelly was having loads of fun wearing her bra that she bought from our Bras for the Cause bras! "Naughty & Nice" Having 2 rides come thru there was keeping Kelly & her staff hopping!
We all rolled back into Ft Dodge, last stop was Community Tap! Everything was setup and ready to sell! We had silent & live auction items! Thanks to Keith for helping us out! Music being played by Rusty! Let the fun begin! There was so much going on that the whole night was a blur! Can't believe that the whole day went so well... So many shirts, bandannas, koozies, bracelets & rings sold! We had approx 20 shirts left over! Everything went so well!
IF you are waiting for a total of money that was made... lets just say... we will let everyone know in Oct when we turn over the money on Breast Cancer awareness month to Rae Anne at the oncology dept at TRMC here in Ft Dodge! But I will give you a slight hint... we beat last years total! I will also say that there is more shirt orders being placed, and more donations coming in, so the counting is far from being over! Woot Woot!!
I want to thank the Angel Ride staff, they came in and helped out when we needed them the most! Also thanks to all the extra helpers that came in to help either in the morning or afternoon or all day! We couldn't of done this without every ones help! A HUGE thank you to 3 Eagles Communications They promoted us all along! Then on Mon after the ride, Mike D sent me a note if I could be in there at 7:30am on Tues to chat on the radio, I sent him a note and said nope, I could do 6am! Well there I was at the radio station at 6am in the morning... I think my mommy was the only one that was awake to listen to me talk with Mike! lol! Loved making new friends there! They were so awesome to us!
I will leave you with this for thought, our theme this year was "Take 5 To Stay Alive" as it was our 5th year! And we want to remind everyone that it takes 5 mins to do a self exam, 5 mins to do a mammogram, and 5 mins to make a call to schedule any appointments to get a checkup! Take 5 (mins) to Stay Alive, EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES!

~~Live life to the fullest, as you never know what tomorrow will bring us~~
~LIVE~LOVE~LAUGH~
~~Ride Safe~ Angel Ride Girl~~

ps: the jar full of pennies (picture at the top) was donated to the cause by our friends Tim & Julie, with the challenge that people needed to guess the amount of pennies in the jar! Well we had some great guessers, and some that didn't know... there was over $300.00 in there! Thanks Tim & Julie for the donation!

Donations are coming in! WOW!

You know when doing a benefit of any kind it is so hard to go asking for donations, as with the world the way it is, many can't afford to give donations... We have been so blessed to have people to give us so many beautiful donations! When you step back and look at them it almost brings tears to your eyes!
This year we have had a great turn out for homemade donations! You know that these people worked hard at making whatever they have donated to us! The quilts take so many hours of work (one day I hope to make one!) The quilt at the top of this page is going to be a memory quilt as the lady that donated it, her sister died of breast cancer at the age of 26 yr (Im thinking)

This rocking motorcycle was donated by a friend of ours! He had made these for his grand kids, and when he was asked to make one for us, hey no problem! It is a heavy duty one and will make a little ones day to be able to ride a cycle just like everyone else!

This barn quilt is a 4x4 wooden quilt to go on the side of a barn, garage, fence! This to was made by a friend of ours! Her husband made the rocking cycle! She had made a barn quilt for someone else, and called me to see if I wanted her to make one for our benefit! And of coarse it turned out way awesome!

This wooden wall clock was donated by a guy that we met in Boxholm! :) He called me when we were at the lakes a couple weeks ago, asking if I remember him... he told me that he wasn't able to ride his motor cycle on the ride as he is having back problems, but he would be there in his truck! Then he said "I made something for your event, and hope that you will like it! It's a tree clock!" This is the 1st one he ever made, and at that call, said that he had made 3-4 more as people wanted them! He said he had hoped that it would bring some money for the event!

This quilt is beautiful done! I know each design has a meaning... not being a quilter, I don't know what they are, the cross pattern is so eye catching! I am sure it will make someone feel all warm and comfortable this winter!

There are so many other donations that are truly amazing, these are just a few! I hope that it sparks an interest to have people come to the Angel Ride this weekend to bid on items that we have!
Oh and for those that like Longaberger baskets, yes there are some of those in the auction items too! Not sure of how many, but these baskets have beautiful gifts in them!!

We will have some silent auctions on Friday night at Amigos! 50/50 drawings with the money paid out that night! Pre-registration! The band HELL OR HIGH WATER is playing! Come on down for much fun & activities! To get this event rolling!

Then on Saturday come back down to Amigo's for sign up 9-11am! They will be serving a $5 breakfast! Take off on the ride, then head back to Community Tap at 5pm. We want everyone back by 5pm so that we can get everyone checked in and start the live auction, along with getting the silent auctions finished up! Providing the weather being good, the silent auction will be out for display most of the day at Community! If you can't make it on the ride, stop down there to check out our auction items!

Thanks so much for your past support, present support and hopefully your future support! With out you we can't make this a big success!

PS: If you get to the Angel Ride event this weekend... stop by to say HI to me!

Angels Helping others!

Good Morning... Even with a busy planning time ahead of us, our group put together 7 book bags full of supplies plus bags of extra supplies for the local radio stations! They are doing a drive on getting school supplies for those kids that can't afford them, making sure that all kids go back to school with new school supplies! It is an awesome way to make a kid smile! The cost wasn't much as long as we all helped out a little!
Just proving that if everyone helps a little it doesn't take much to help others!

Garage Sale/Bake Sale at Community Tap!

Greetings to you all!
Just a BIG thanks to all that came out to the garage sale/bake sale that Sally at Community Tap & Pizza put on for us! And for those that donated items to be sold! The word WOW isn't enough to cover the night and its turn out! I dropped off some items in the morning of Friday June 17th and they were just getting things set up, with not too much going on! Well by the time I went back there to drop off more items, there was allot of items dropped off & already sold! The sale was to start at 4pm, but people kept stopping and buying! Can't turn away early sales! And the sales were going until dark! :)
The Angel Shirts were being sold too, along with 50/50 tickets! The 50/50 tickets sold $463.00 with 1/2 of that going to the winning ticket $231.50! That was an awesome total! The girls worked hard at getting that money collected & people were still wanting to buy tickets after it was all said & done with! There will be more chances at buying 50/50 tickets & don't have to be present to win!
It is so heart filling to know that so many people are willing to help out in events like this! The items that they brought out to sell, baked goods were plentiful, and many came out to enjoy the band Salty View that was playing! The sun was shining and it turned out to be an awesome day!
We now are selling those rubber bracelets that say "Angel Ride to Save the TaTas" and "Hope" rubber rings, and soon we will have the "I <3 Boobies" rubber bracelets! I have had allot of people wanting to get those already!
Thanks again to Sally at Community Tap & Pizza & to the public for their support in helping us out too!! Also thanks to the radio guys for showing up to show their support to us too! You guys are awesome!!

Having Angel Fun!

June 4th was a fun day for the Angel Ride girls! We joined in the Frontiers Day parade here in Fort Dodge! The weather was awesome! Had plenty of girls show up to help out! And even kids and a dog with us! Sally brought her Vet, Cathy her Mustang! Laura, Tammy & Dale rode their bikes! Some rode in the cars, walked, and the kids rode their little battery Gator! Throwing candy to the kids! Handing out temporary tats to people was so much fun! Wish every day was parade day! I even showed kids along the route, how it rains candy! They loved it, as I did too!
On the parade route got to talk on the radio station with Mike D. & Jerry S. they wanted a Dudes for Boobs shirts, didn't have them with us, but delivered them later! Also towards the end of the parade was Duane M from the radio station, along as a good friend! He loved how the Angel came around the corner, and yes we let all the judges know that we were in full support for the Save the TaTas!! :)
On Tues Cathy & I went to the radio station to take the DJ's their shirts! Mike put us on the radio! A little scary but fun! Also Brett taped us for a later broadcast! They are all so nice to us, sold a couple shirts! And also found out that Von keeps up with my blog! I was surprised as I didn't know that anyone read these! Thanks so much Von you made my day!
After leaving the radio station Cathy & I went on a road trip to get donations! People have been so nice to us giving us donation! We even have one of our Angels that sent out sheets to have business donate! The sheets are starting to come in! It is amazing on what people will do or give to this cause! Whether they know someone that has gone thru breast cancer, are going thru it themselves, or anyone that has cancer at all! The big "C" word effects so many people!
This coming week, hopes to keep us all busy! There will be one bike night in Webster City at the Grid Iron, then on Friday Sally at the Community is putting together a garage sale to help us earn money! She has people wanting to donate items they no longer need, and well, it is time to clean out those unwanted items! It should be a fun afternoon! Then that night she has a band coming in to play! The Angels will be on hand to sell t-shirts, 50/50 tickets (for that night) there is a raffle for a pink rocking horse! So many fun things that will be going on!
Stay tuned for more Angel Ride fun yet to come!

Getting things going!

The weather isn't looking as bad as this picture anymore! It warms up, cools down, and soon the weather will be just right for riding! People have been getting antsy to start their bikes up! But I hope that everyone is safe at the beginning of the riding season, because the cars are not use to the bikes being out again! Keep a look out! I, myself along with my 2 sons, and some friends will be taking the motorcycle safety classes soon! It will be fun to learn!
We had our 2nd Angel Ride meeting last week! We have many ideas being tossed around! Many donations being picked up! I tell the Angel Girls that it is better to be ahead of the games, as when the warmer weather comes, they will all want to be outside! I know I will want to be!
We have the ride about finished being planned out! It should be a fun one with lots of things to look at along the roads! Rivers, scenery, more than just fields! I think this will be an awesome ride! New places to go, new people to meet along the way! I know I have already met some super nice people while stopping in at their businesses while planning this ride! The local people are mainly friendly & want to help out with this amazing cause! Its heart breaking when you talk to some of these people too. One place that we were going to stop at (but they are going to be gone) he told me he wished he could of helped us out, as he just lost his mother to Breast Cancer a year prior.
You really don't know how this cancer has hit so many out there. I know I heard very little about it until I started working on the Angel Ride. Some ask if I, my sister or mother had it. I look at them and say no, but know others that have, and some survived some didn't make it. Its kinda like "Paying it Forward".
Soon we will be posting shirts up for sale, bandannas, hoodies, and misc items! There are some different ideas of what we are selling this year! We have had request for items, so watch out for what we bring forward!
Until the next blog, take care, be well & be safe!

We are putting together baskets for other causes too! The BETS for PETS Fur Ball 2011 for the Humane Society is March 26th, and D/SAOC Cake Auction is coming up! It is so great to be able to make baskets for these other causes, which also gets our name and date of the ride out there too! Posters are starting to go up too! Watch for them! If you are interested in putting up posters around your area of Iowa to help promote our ride, let me know and I can email you a copy for you to print off!!
As we get moving we will add pictures of the meetings, events we attend and donations we gather up for the ride!
IF you are interested in donating something for our Angel Ride, leave me a note! If your on Facebook, go to our sight and join it... Angel Ride to Save the TaTas!

Date Set... so much to do!

It is now March, and the year is already onto a fast start! WoW! I am not sure where time goes sometimes... we all get busy in our own lives and don't take time to stop and smell the flowers along the way... To notice those around us, just to say hi to them... Take time out to take care of our selves... It only takes 5 minutes (give or take)at the oncology dept. or woman's center to have your mammogram done! Early detection helps to save lives!
One of our own Angels is going through treatments now, early detection is how she found out... No one can stress about early detection than those going through the treatments! Its not what they had planned to take time out of their lives to go to treatments 5 days a week, and worrying 7 days a week... So PLEASE remember to take time out to get your check ups done!
All that being said brings us to this years theme will be, "TAKE 5 TO STAY ALIVE!" Beings it is our 5th year of the Angel Ride to Save the TaTa's!
The date is set for JULY 30th, 2011! Lets hope for another awesome day like we had last year! The weather was truly awesome, a little hot, but no rain!
So please mark your calendars to save the date for the TaTa run! JULY 30th! We want as many bikes, cars, trucks, vans there as possible! Because we want to have fun at raising money for all the breast cancer patients that we can! Last year we brought in $30,000! That is going to help allot of people! I say 'people' as breast cancer doesn't only hit women it also hits men! The money that is raised also helps those patients within a 75 mile radius of Ft Dodge! But no one is turned away!
I can't believe how many people that have gone or is going through breast cancer treatments! I told you in an earlier blog that I found out that my aunt and a couple other people I knew had it, years after the fact...and this weekend I found out that another cousin had gone through treatments a couple years ago... and that 2 of my class mates are going through it now... how many others that are in my life are going through this that I didn't know about....makes one wonder... I wish that more people would be open about it so that others may know it helps others to have knowledge about this horrible cancer! And that they are not alone!!
I hope to stay on top of my blog this year, last year we had some set backs at our house... water in the basement! Like many others that are already going through that around this area! Water is such a bad thing to deal with, but around here, its ice & water! Ugh!
Take Care, Keep warm until we blog again~

Made our goal!

WOW We did it! We handed over $30,000 to TRH Oncology!
We also got to tour of the Oncology Dept! There is going to be some remodeling and adding onto the cancer area to make it more comfortable, and easier access for patients to come & got for their treatments!
BUT~ the money we donate helps to buy wigs, scarfs, transportation things that the insurance doesn't take care of! We also got to see where they keep the wigs and was so impressed on how nice the wigs were!
Thanks again to all that helped by getting the ride going, going on the ride, and for all the donations of items, money & gifts to make it a success! It can't be done with out you all!
Take Care & God Bless you all!
Be Safe~Angel Ride Girl

PS: This 2011 ride is on July 30! Mark your calendars to attend or help out!
